Studio Art for Kids in Westhampton Beach - Cool!

Couldn't resist peeking into the open door of Studio Art, a drop-in arts and crafts insta-camp for kids, run by local artists. It's on Sunset Avenue, just around the corner from Lucille's Beach Barn.

All the supplies are there for the choosing. There are painting and drawing workshops for all ages. The studio is open 7 days a week, and each art-kid leaves the same day with his or her way-cool creations.

Catching up at Fitzgerald Gallery in Westhampton Beach

Beginning with a friendly greeting from pooch Fitzie, a visit to Fitzgerald Gallery on Main Street in Westhampton Beach is always a warm experience. Kevin and Mary Fitzgerald combine superior craftsmanship and discerning artistic taste with a genuine interest in each person who steps into their shop.

On your way to the counter, you'll see dozens of matted prints with everything from local scenes to botannical themes and more.


For these pieces and for artwork you bring in for framing, you can choose from thousands of frame and mat designs. All work is done on premises, following museum standards.

July 4th was fun in Westhampton Beach

Ah, the New York weekend life! Well worth the wait for the good ole LIRR at Penn Station to escape to beautiful Westhampton Beach!

After a June full of rain and cool, July 4th weekend was a gift of perfect weather. There were lines all day at Beach Bakery Cafe. And on Friday evening, the Satchel Boogie band drew a crowd out front with its funky-sweet songs.

So many cars cruising that it was hard to snap a clear picture across Main Street! Always good to return to Westhampton Beach and see Magic's Pub open for grog and chow.

Who Needs a Car? Walk to Everything in Westhampton Beach

Well, it will be BusyHampton this weekend in Westhampton Beach! Happy July 4th!
When you get to town, wind down from the ride with a relaxing cup of tea and a treat at Beach Bakery Cafe on Main Street. Ooh la la, those yummy pies and pastries, cookies, and breads! I actually stopped in twice in one day. Free wifi, too, so you can keep up with your email in between bites.

The Westhampton Country Club will offer a fireworks display on Saturday, July 4, at approximately 9 p.m. The public will not be admitted on country club grounds but the fireworks will be visible from various locations throughout the village. For more information, call 288-1148.
